ESTABLISHMENT was commissioned by our client to breathe new life into a charming Victorian house that formerly operated as a guest house. This comprehensive transformation involved a complete facelift of the home, and we collaborated closely with the owner to bring their vision to fruition. On the ground floor, we installed new flooring and refurbished the original staircase, preserving its historic charm while enhancing functionality. We also created an office and library room designed to provide a private, serene atmosphere for work and reading. The kitchen was transformed into a light-filled space, featuring folding doors that open seamlessly to the back garden and pool area, fostering a natural flow between indoor and outdoor living. On the first storey, the redesign focused on all the bedrooms and bathrooms, where we removed the old carpets to reveal the stunning original Oregon pine timber floors. These floors were expertly sanded, bleached, and sealed, highlighting their natural beauty and history. The bathrooms were crafted to feature a contemporary design while retaining a Victoriana aesthetic, striking the perfect balance between modern comfort and timeless elegance. To infuse the space with vibrancy, we embraced bold colors that made daring statements, creating a truly unique and inspiring home that pays homage to the nostalgic nuances of the Victorian era. The curation of new furniture and accessories was thoughtfully executed, harmonizing with the client’s vast collection of artworks to create a space that feels both personal and inviting. The final result is a beautifully revitalized Victorian home that captures the essence of its history while embracing modernity—creating a much-loved sanctuary for our client.
